“You should know the locals here are pretty weird.”

Excellent casting. Gripping storyline. Felt like an adult/supernatural version of NeverEnding story where you feel super connected with their world, almost like you are in the story with them. The twist right at the end left me pretty destroyed. I will never forgive Netflix for cancelling this; watch this gem before it is gone for good.

The House [2022]

“We love what you have done to the house.”

Three stories on a central theme of bricks n mortar, these stories cover acquiring a house (with the status that comes with it), how a house can change you or you can lose your sense of identity, and lastly having to compromise between staying and being untethered. I thought it was excellently well done. It takes a medium like felt which is playful, and transforms it into something nightmarishly surreal. Not to mention how well it tackles and navigates serious or complicated human emotions. Really enjoyed this. It's an excellent film.
